digital risk assessment, Ipad or smartphone

I was wondering if complete their on site risk assessments on digital format I.E Smart phone, Ipad laptop.

 

I'm trying to cut down on our use of paper.

 

Have you had any problems?

 

Legal complications?

 

How do you get staff to sign off the risk assessment?

If I could get a few well paying jobs in I'd get the iPad. But I would get staff to sign a separate sheet or something to prove thugs read it.

 

Although you can get staff to sign their name with their finger on the iPad. You'd just have to work out some way of linking the two.

use the camera option to photograph them holding a board stating "I have read and understand the risk assessment".

Quite a lot of devices have Hand Writing Recognition.

You should be able to link a hand written signature to a Pocket document or sign in Notes and link to the word document. I hope that helps

best have a smart card in it to store info as you go as if the device broke you would have no copy in the event of a disaster.

I use an ipaq with a basic excel spread sheet.

These are backed up on a memory card as hama points out.

In terms of the team signing off, they have there own ipaq on board also.

I delegate one of them to undertake & initial the ssra
