i disagree..get it tuned by a professional with the right tool for the job

i hav nver put a saw into a shop to be tuned n 25 years in the business pretty basic stuff..as a saw needs to be run for 20 mins before retuning. i cant personally see that happening in the workshop

Slasher......

Well I've been in this game 25 years too, and sure, I have had to tune my own saws throughout that time - goes with the job

But I'm not a mech, and I know they can be really tarted up! - like any engine.

And when you've spent 8hrs ripping, and your hands/forearms are numb, you too might want a revved up saw to get it done that little bit quicker.

i still disagree. theres only one person i take my saws to for tuning. ive watched loads of people messing around with the adjustments in the field which has only led to expense in the long run. but still.....my mechanical working knowledge is limited and its not something i have any interest in learning either.

Still, I don't wanna dance around the semantics of whether I NEED someone else to tweak my 880, I still WANT someone to, at I'm not talking a warm H/L/LA factory settings fiddle, I mean a proper saw tweaker/rebuilder. so, SE, London, Herts, essex.......

appreciated.

btw slasher, you got the forum social skills of a pile of dog crap up a dark alley :D
