Bar recommendations

Looking to get a new 3ft bar for my 880, had a Stihl Duromatic on it when I bought it, going to be used for felling rather than milling work. What other bars are worth considering? Thanks for any help.

cannon. if you have lots of money. oregon bars are pretty good too.

i have got a 50" woodland pro (cannon) and a 60" gb. i use them for milling however i find that the wp is nicer to use and it keeps cooler at the sprocket end. for long bars that is important. as posted before get in touch with Rob D and he will answer any questions you have. he posted a vid of himself felling a big tree using a 72" gb. if most of your old bars are 3/8 then you can still run them on an 880 but you have to get a 3/8 drive sprocket otherwise your stuck with 404.

Cannon or GB have less flex in them than the oregon ones. But cost a lot more.

If you go Cannon think about their 37" instead of the 36", if you're running 404 chain, then you'll get better adjustment when the chain has stretched a bit, I've got the 36" and with 112 DL the adjustment is almost used up.

 

Also note that the Stihl 3' ES bar is not quite 3'... takes 108 DL (404)

 

The Cannon bars are impressive though, and the sprocket nose is smaller Ø than the Stihl equiv.
