at work today on the river

I know this has nothing to do with trees! but bare with me (sorry for those without broadband!)

 

been to look at some river restoration today and they was a very nice toy that i know you machinery junkies will appreciate

 

 

this excavator can walk over obstructions such as boulders and step over river banks so not cause any damage, also the tyres as is obvious are low ground pressure

 

its for desilting a river, where a mine burst its silt lagoon into the river

Does it have a decent road speed or is its speed comparable to a tracked machine?

i didnt see him moving very quickly, the wheels are all driven with hydrulic motors so i guess its not going to be very quick, but i would think faster than a tracklayer.
