The Fisher King

Not a Homage to Robin Williams & Jeff Bridges finest hour, but a couple of hours of fun in the sludge next to a man made Kingfisher bank.

This Willow failed due to Phellinus ignarius, a couple of months back.

The issue being, that it's ended up blocking the flight line into the sand bank.

We've waited until well out of nesting, and have now cleared the flight line back.

Ahoy sailor

looks like a messy, but fun, job.

probably made all the more interesting by having to sned the thing whilst floating on the river in a metal bathtub!

was the vessel anchored to the tree?

Bit of yes & a bit of no Chris.

When stabilty was needed, the good boswain held the ship steady at anchor, then when the cutting be a tad more perilous alternatives were deployed.

Using various implements including oar, tether rope, strop, (prayer), but basically good judgement.

"Metal Bath Tub", indeed :sneaky2:

I'll have you know that the good ship 'Hampstead', gets us home safe to port through many a heavy squall

Scurvy lot that crew. :001_rolleyes:

They just don't knows, when theys gots it soooo good

Cheesed off the apprentice though, think he wanted to bag abit of navorial arb before his apprenticeship ends.

Instead he had to endure dragging the brash through the stinking fresh water clam soup :sneaky2:

Oh I dont know Tobias, that lad has possibly had the most varied & interesting Arb apprenticeship there is.

He's certainly having a great oportunity.

When he's moved on to his next adventure I'll put up a diary of his time here.
