Been approached by a company called advantage. Line rental is half standard Bt and calls cost 80% less. You keep your standard bt line and phone nos. BT open reach are part of bt but seperate ? . Anyone had any experience sounds too good to be true so probably is .

Be very careful when signing any agreement with phone companies. As you are signing as a business there is a legal expectation that you will have a lawyer to read the small print. There is usually a 2 or 3 year get out clause buried within making it very difficult and time consuming to extract yourself from it. Either that or very expensive. Try googling for forum sites dedicated to disgruntled clients. We are with Unicom and they are sharks. Just about to finally get out of our contract.

Thanks for the info. The other thing that concerned me was who repairs the lines and at what cost. We have in the last few years had 3 faults on the lines, all BT equipment but on all occasions Bt will refuse to come out unless you agree to a charge of £50 an hour. This applies to business and residential lines. The engineers are under pressure to make sure it is a chargeable call out. To cut a long story short on each occassion a bit of a punch up which we won. What worries me is how much grief could you get from these new wholesale companies.
