I am having a log burner fitted soon but we're limited to a 5KW because of trouble venting it. Any suggestions on the best 5kw stove for under £800?

We`ve got a Hamlet, which was about 600 quid.Well made unit of 5kw.

Charnwood Cove II - our only source of heat - lovely fire.5f90a659-97c8-039a.jpg

Bjam, I have the same stove, I assume the plate at the rear is to reflect the heat and to stop the plaster cracking? unsurprisingly my wall gets very hot and the plaster has cracked, I assume yours did the same?

the eco fans are good, but you will not feel a draught, but will notice the heat has moved, i want to get another one to push the heat further into the front room too.

plaster will always crack behind the stove, especially if the stove is very clos to the wall

Never have plaster too close to the stove, we either re-point the chamber or apply a 4:1 sand cement render and spray it black depending on what the customer wants.
