Ian were you just practicing that there or was there something to dodge. Did you just run the rope through a pulley at the.base.then tension it, if so what? Did you clip the lifting eye to both ends of the rope? Never done a verticle.speedline but it looks like it could be a usefully trick when it counts

I've got a trick job coming up soon which has a tight drop zone and a slope. So i tested out my own kind of built vert speedline. So that tree was coming out so i had a play with it to see if it captured the wood enough at the base.

 

I fed the lifting eye into the system at the base so it couldn't escape off the line. I won't use a pulley block in the top again tho as it creates a bit too much slack in the line i might thread a bit of lowering rope through it instead. I just kind of larks footed it at the base to give a stop point at the base.

 

I definatly has its place but only when you don't want chogs running away:thumbup1:
