Only just seen this, and I cant actually believe you are moaning about this and the following support given!

The seatbelt law is hardly new, and i dare say you passed your driving test after that law had been implimented.

As for the runaway cable, you obviously haven't seen a trailer career down a dual carriageway with a digger on the back after it broke loose. I have, and it killed a woman and child in a car because they "forgot" to put the cable on.

As Stevie says, man up and take it on the chin. Afterall, you were fined on life saving issues. Hardly minor IMO.

i got done for the wrong plate last month. £30 fine. I had the right plate underneath, i had changed vehicles and forgot, they commented on my great idea.

Sorry, but "Do the crime - do the time"!

I understand your point and agree wholeheartedly. This the reason why police officials shoot themselves in the foot, undermining the entire process of enforcing important safety aspects of our lives through education and fines. I dont even object to fines ( within limits of course) as the service is agreed as necessary, and desirable ( there's alot of dickheads about!) but IT AINT FREE.

However, and its a big, stick in your craw, naff you off BUT Stevie (you'll excuse the pun..butt? )...THATS SO PETTY! :wtf:
