SUPERB PICTURES!!... Height of tree? DBH? just curious cos it looked like, A BIG LUMP. Bet you enjoyed that. Great Post

 

thanks Mr fox, Great buzz! didnt get much sleep sunday night mind you!!

 

it was around the 115ft mark in height.. had to fell the top 10 ft out for the crane to get on top of it. didnt measure the DBH but although it had some width at the base it tapered off quickly. the last section was just over 8T which was surprising!!

its like bright pinky red!! we have still got the timber stored as it was cut. trying to decide what to do with it to be honest.. would be ace if someone wanted carve the bottom bit! like a huge bear or something. we've got a guy that would mill it but no point until someone knows what size they want it in, so its just laying around at the moment
