The managment plan at the time was to maintain them on a 3 year rotation as "pollards"

 

The brewery then sold the pub to a developer and it never happened.

 

That's one of the biggest problems with pollards, the current owner is usually keen to maintain pollards and then sells the house, new owner hasn't a clue and pollards become neglected

its an 8m foresterri. dean. there was another ash you couldnt see in the picture. they are right at the front of the log pile now:001_smile:

bbb, i would class it as a 99.9% reduction as i left the stumps about 2 inches high. the garden was full of stones and boulders. and i had already taken the edge off the saw with an old coppiced rowan full of crap.:sneaky2:

i just noticed, in the last pic you can see my shadow taking the pic standing ontop of the tractor roof lol
