guys i think stihl err on the side of caution with rec. bar lengths sometimes,probably covering their arse on warranty claims and looking for increased sales.surely what your cutting can have a massive bearing on choice of saw/bar length etc? my 440 runs a 25" all day but give it some hedgerow elm(aka concrete) and it cowers in the van,out comes the 88,25" and it eats it,job done.horses for courses

441 ....fantastic saw, run mine on 20".

I did stick a 30" on for a couple of cuts..... not something I would do on a regualar basis !!

(had a breakdown....needed to finish a job ).

i havnt had a go of a 441 but i have used a 357xp, i like the 357 power to wieght is nice. ive used a 341 and i like them 2. is the 357 more powerfull than the 341 ?
