Where are you based/ need to know?

im near southampton, need to know correct 4x4 operation, service intervals, etc, picking truck up next week, it has no handbook, and cant seem to find one anywhere, any help would be great, mike

For the 99 to 06 ranger the service intervals are yearly or every 6000 mile which ever is sooner. To be honest the owners manual doesn't give you much info just which service is a major and which are basic.

 

My manual tells me nothing of what's involved in each service. i.e. gearbox and diff oil changes.

Yer for my 4x4 operation is quite simple too, only you have to flicke the RFL button to unlock the front hubs when your back in the dry

sorry to derail the thread but has anyone changed the cv boots on their ranger ? im in the middle of changing mine but for what ever reason the cv joint will not come of from the drive shaft . any advice will b greatfully recieved

can you engage 4x4 on the move or does the vehicle have to be stationary??

the vehicle MUST be stationary to shift ratio or into 4x4

But once the hubs are locked in you can flick between them until you unlock them
