Had a chat with Thilo Beeker who attended Mark's presentation in Haugsburg the other week, he says it'll probably cause a bit of a stir in the UK... Looking forward to that!

 

Well....how was it, was Mr Bridge on form, is his leg all fixed up now?

 

Obviously I couldn't make the show, so did anyone learn anything? any pictures, surprises, bargains, encounters etc ? how about the other demo's and workshops etc....Treevolution do anything interesting?

There was an very revealing srt rescue performed by mr cowell and treevolution. I hadn't considered the complexity of the stages...

Didnt make the presentation, but Mr Bridge seemed pretty hale and hearty.

 

I have to say, I didnt see or hear of anything really new or innovative this year. Seemed like everyone is just digging in rather than splashing out.

Has it made you re-think your own aerial rescue strategy?

I do very much like the new DMM carabiners, the tiny sentinel and the triple lock revolver. Big thumbs up here, although I had seen them before the show.

yes, i bought 3 myself!

the biggest let down with the revolver for me is that it wont fit the hitch climber, that would make for a superb pulley/krab for the m-redirect

The talk by mark bridge itself was very good....Marks a very easy person to listen to and managed to bring interesting angles to common ideas like risk assessments etc. its a shame more of us couldnt have attended, but i think everyone who did make it was glad to have attended.

 

So many thanks to Mark for that, and also Nod for arranging it. Thanks also to the AA for allowing the use of their contractors tent for the event.

 

As mentioned before by Nod, there was a quick whip round at the end in aid of the childrens trust. Many thanks to everyone who gave something. The total raised was £54.84 which will be forwarded to the charity first thing tomorrow....I'll try get some sort of certificate of payment sent to me to display here.
