Mini Forward Trailers

Recommended Posts

Can anybody recommend suitable mini forwarders for the task

I liked the look of this one it's a jms900r trailer with a 900 sr crane on . Made by rico so they have been around for while (we used to have a rico wopa chopa, brush cutter years ago) The guy who Lee knows would be able to help you out i'm sure.

I like the look of that trailer and loader

I've been looking around for a while for a 12v hiab/viper to mount on a ifor tipper(crazy money second hand) ,but i think this crane would be a better option,i'll have to check the weight of it first. I saw a trailer/crane at the apf ,the guy was saying the draw bar on a ifor was'nt up to the job and he wishes he had a quid for every time someone asked if the crane would fit on one.

This is what I used to run before I bought the County. The tractor was a second hand 50hp carraro that came from Steve Cabrol at RICO, and the trailer was a jms900 that I hired in as and when. Was a great little outfit on the right jobs, main problem I had was lack of ground clearance.

Ernest Doe & Sons said they could fit an Italian crane/loader on an Ifor for me, way too much money for the crane imo..

Steve at Riko would be able to reinforce an Ifor Williams draw bar i'm sure and fit a crane with Honda hyraulic pack, just make sure your sitting down when these engineers give you a price..

If work was a bit better i'd have bought a second hand lorry with flatbed and hi-ab, much better value for money imo, if work had been pouring in i'd have bought a Valtra with roof mounted crane....:001_smile:

Other thing with sticking a crane on an ifor type trailer is with the crane and additional strengthening it eats well into the carrying weight. Also if front mounted it chucks the nose weight well over. He does build one that you can transport the tractor on and then when you get there put the trailer behind the tractor - got round uneven loading by making the whole axle assembly moveable backwards and forwards on hdraulics.
