My Ducker (same as a TP) chipper had those bearings. I greased them often, but found I got play between the bearing and the cast housing, which was annoying as the bearing was still fine.

You can replace the housing seperately dave

Yes, but its as big a job as changing the whole thing, plus the quickest way to get them off the shaft, is with an angle grinder and chisel, which usually leaves the bearing a little worse for wear

I have just replaced a bearing.....had to cut the old one off after houre with a 14lb sledge wouldnt move it. put the new one on and i think i have put it on backto front, hence this thread. Had to beat it off, so another new one required in the morning. what a knob:laugh1:
