pto to hydraulic powered

Can i turn my pto chipper to be pwoered off hydraulics? I know everything is possible but what are the ins and outs, any information appreciated:001_smile:

look at the power of skidsteers and hydrostatic machines, i take it it will all be in the size of the pump kev

It depends on the hydraulic fluid power (pressure vs. flow) you have available,

 

L/min flow * bar pressure / 600 = power in KW

 

1HP = 746W

 

you old Unimog would have had ~18.5HP of fluid power.

my old mog had an extra pump on it, there was a button i was told never to press lol. Its my tp250, it needs 100bhp, so what oil pressue and flow would i need ?

that was the dual circuit hydraulics, meaning you had 45L or 55L per min flow on circuit one and 18L/min on circuit two, there would have been 2 buttons on the dash, one to turn circuit two on and the other to switch flow between circuits.

 

You would need ~75KW, you would then need some reserve for efficacy factors so you would need about 90KW

 

You would need ~263.4L/min @ ~205 bar for ~90KW

Sounds like the oil flow of a 400hp + tractor would imagine would need a big tank and cooler too.

if you need a shot of a flow meter give me a shout im in the falkirk area have done quite a lotof oddball stuff like this mainly on excavators and crushers etc:thumbup:

I wouldn't know what to do with a flow meter:blushing:If you are good with hydraulics and fabricating and like doing things a bit diferent then i could keep you busy:laugh1:
