Have carried out anything more in depth than a VTA? I would be curious to see the extent of the decay :001_smile:

Digi micro probed,

.

That would be a Sibtec Digital Micro probe. :001_rolleyes:

Bit like a Resistograph...........but not

Asymetrical coloum of decay, that didn't particularly ring any major jingly jangly things at this time.

am i missing somthing, how come they did not want the other part of the tree over the grass done at the same time?

Who's "they" :confused1::biggrin:

I would have pruned for shape and form, even given the later further reduction, but thats just my style.

Shape and form not a player here for me, as it's not Mrs Miggins beloved back garden pride & joy.

This is a work toward pollard.

Time frame, repeat phase & ongoing assesment are the indicators that will & do manage this particilar woody thing.

I guarantee this future phase pruned pollard, would not see the light of another day, in most, if not any other La La land had VTA'd & hazard assesed.

Not posted for aesthetic marks :001_smile:

If it was I'd have prefixed with......"what d'ya think of this reduction"

if it had been VTA assesed it would have been felled in any other La la land?

I thought you said the decay wasnt that bad? so surely, you mean its T/R ratio was within accepted standards within VTA methodology?

So would it have been felled in another La la land?:001_huh:

As for the asthetics, its no harder to prune to form than to do what has been done here?

Sorry david, just reminds me of those at Hatfield, which i also dont agree with!:001_tt2:

Hatfield doesn't have 7 million visits a year, though, does it.

& I didn't say that "it wasn't that bad."

That's my assesment of my tree, that will have me keeping an eye on it.

Consistant inspection.

the micro probe didn't have a hell of a lot of resistance path side :sneaky2:
