The group came to the conclusion that it was Ganoderma pfeifferi. A mutant G. lucidium was one of the suggestions but then G. lucidium doesn't have a perennial fruiting body...

 

The lighter was busted out and the resinous cuticle ran...

can anyone expand on why pfeifferi is known as the Beeswax Bracket?

Interestingly, I can find no word that this particular type.. (pfeifferi ) does not do a perennial bracket thing. The inference by Schwarze, Engels and Mattheck is that Ganoderma spp are all perennial brackets.

 

i meant lucidium didnt i ??:cussing:
