Pimped My Saw

Just done up an old 029, was on the spare parts pile at work as a non runner so took it home and managed to get it going but its performance was rubbish and had a damaged casing and no air filter cover:thumbdown:. At the time I needed a decent saw for blocking out my carvings and something reliable for felling, so went and bought a 361  and the 029 then sat on the floor in my workshop.

I’ve never stripped and rebuilt a saw before so it was quite a learning experience. I got a cheap 039 casing of ebay, rebuilt the carb, fitted a new piston + rings and modded the exhaust. Finally got it running and tuned by ear yesterday and am well happy, sounds sweet and seems to cut really well with plenty of power:thumbup1:
