I have no idea why this is the case, either way it is an area ripe for study because of it.:thumbup1:

I guess there's always the great works of the likes of Butin, Ryvarden & Gilbertson on the Polypores.

I wish I'd spent more time looking closer at the Mycos a few years back when we were recording what we came across in the sandy soil oak woodlands at work.

Picked up Geoffery Kibby's work on the Genus Amanita in the UK whilst having a look at what Sommerfield had at the trade show yesterday......looks really useful as a field guide. Will have to keep an eye out for the others

Do you have any/all of the series? any thoughts?

to be honest at my peak I was buying books faster than I could read them! still dont know what ive got and what I still need as I've been otherwise distracted from my own study for a while now.

So much so Im feeling very stupid and ignorant, watching the posts of others like yourself getting on and joining proper groups makes me wish I still had the clarity and drive for it I once had.

I will be getting this one you have though, as it doesnt ring any bells, and the Amanitas are a great fungi:thumbup1:

Ive been meaning to send something over to you since Bulgaria, just waiting for the Mrs to pull her finger out for the last goody bag item, as ive something for the boys to but didnt wanna leave your good lady out !

caught this out of the corner of my eye as I went past it last week but didn't really focus on it tbh (bit busy getting a tracked Mewp off site) must be getting slack

Got a call from a local aquaintance who knows a thing or two about fung that it was Hericium cirrhatum the tiered tooth. (relatively uncommon)

First time I've seen it on a standing dead tree (here on one of our beech monoliths) usually have come across it on fallen birch.
