Had a little visit to my manor today, from some young fungal upstart :sneaky2:

Think he enjoyed his little trip :thumbup1:

Though if I catch him climbing me trees again, he'll be put on the wanted list

It was a fine, fine day in fine company, Casper made some interesting comments, got me thinking. You lot really wasn't buying the dryadeus though, have faith!

Was cool or not depending on your viewpoint to see so much Ganoderma australe, which really helped get my head round a few issues with them. It really is a very dominent fungus there on the heath and in Kenwood, surprised to see it so detrimental to Quercus robur too, though the compaction and stress may be a key in this area, 7 million footfalls per annum, and thats probably conservative!

And a first for me, and what an introduction, to sorbus toremanalis! the phattest in the u.k! your time and company was appreciated.

That's pretty darn cool.

Don't recall having come across a set of fb's breaking out both outside & inside the same location on a tree.

Did you see it entire before it was damaged ?

no unfortunatley, that was certainly taken for the pot:thumbdown:

Not a great biggy as there's plenty of Laeti on the Heath.

But foraging is on the increase, and most of it is blanket stripping & uneducated alas.

Supprised about the one above though, as it's a relatively quite part of the woods.
