I gave the HC extension another try today. Seems to me that a small prussic cord is the way to. The Ropeman is too much of a pain!!!

Can you post a pic? would be nice to compare

true tony, but if you want to use the redirect you dont have the option of clipping it back onto the hitchclimber.....no biggie though. i think this method has yet to evolve into something very cool

I have a petzl rigging paw on my bridge so I'd clip back to that, cheap and cheerful. Jangles nicely when you're walking about as well. Like a bell on a cats collar, everyone hears it and starts working again!!! :)

The first trick is the SRT style pull rope technique, never even entered my head.

its always annoying how simple some things are when you eventually hear about them and wonder why you hadnt thought of it yourself!!

This is what I am working on. I have yet to do any real climbing on it yet. !!!

The prussic cord is small and locks in both directions unlike the Ropeman.

If I can find a smaller clip I can make this even cleaner!!!

Very Interesting setup Stu. Is it safe to have a sharp pressure point that is created with the splice of the xtc?

Very cool none the less.
