hypholoma fasciculare (sulphur tuft) and meripilus giganteus (the giant polypore)

 

Looks a bit like a saproTROPHIC, version to me! wwooooaahahhhhh controversial!

 

Haha your going to have to enlighten this newb on that one?:001_huh::confused1: whats this difference and why so excited haha:001_tongue:

Oh its an in house joke, just that a top consultant JFL believes there to be two forms of meripilus, i believe he is correct, as do some others. I have been watching meripilus for a long time, and am finaly more than happy to say this is looking increasingly likely.

 

Dont stress over this, its well out there and only for the headstrong fung nerds! lol

I saw a Ted Green lecture a couple of years ago and he said the same thing. Said he has witnessed meripilus come and go on beech over the decades.

Yes but the fact there maybe two forms was NOT in the lecture!:001_tt2:

 

Not knocking Ted (oh crikey no!) just saying that this particular presentation did not hypothesise about a second form.:thumbup:
