I have used a Makita Stone saw numerous times also a Sthil Stone saw and i prefer the Makita any day so if its the same with the chainsaws go for it.

ive heard good things about the ground saws. their drills are bullet proof, i use to fit windows and used a makita 14v cordless everyday, they are solid and reliable.

hi all

We are using an Ama top handle saw at the moment and having some trouble tuning it. It hasnt really lasted that long.Used to have all echo in previous years and they are ab fab, cant fault them.Just looked at husky 435t but have been told they are cheapy chineese saw with husky name.Might try a Makita as they were Sachs Dolmar and they as good as stihl at less money.

Take care up there

Most of the Makita range is Dolmar designed. Ive got a DCS4301 which is brilliant, and a DCS340, which after 14 years has finally started to refuse to start warm. Try Neil at CJ Industries, he does mail order. Ignore any prices on the website, he'll usually do you a good deal if you talk to him direct.
