i seen a similar event about 3 years ago involving a sixty ton crane at full reach,climber puts a sling around a 45 ft leader on an african mahogany,about 2ft diameter.sling was placed 4ft (at the butt end) from where the cut was made.

they were using the small hook on the crane and when the piece was cut and turned over the shock threw the big hook around the back of the boom several times:thumbdown:

there was a fair amount of yelling after that from the crane operator,who proberly couldnt see much from his position

 

we were working a couple of yards over so i had a birdseye view of the procedings:lol:
