the bottom needs shaping ideally, i wasnt happy with the uneveness of it but was told just to cut what we could with a hedgecutter.

haha, wouldnt normally be reducing a tree with a hedge trimmer!! this ones a regular trim job and fits in well with the grounds as it is

This tree has been maintained like this for many years, back in the 50's, it was pruned using a long thatching ladder and shears, thankfully nowadays we have cherry pickers and hedge-trimmers!!
