thats what it was supposed to look like carl! and yes ed in fact there is one there haha

 

the bottom needs shaping ideally, i wasnt happy with the uneveness of it but was told just to cut what we could with a hedgecutter.

I know someone that got fired for reducing a tree with a hedge trimmer!! That looks nice though.

 

 

Was that our Kiwi friend? If it was he hedge trimmed a Purple Leaf plum.

This tree has been maintained like this for many years, back in the 50's, it was pruned using a long thatching ladder and shears, thankfully nowadays we have cherry pickers and hedge-trimmers!!
