My spikes, new to climbing and having problems

the bloke that learned me how to spike on the phone said the most important thing to remember is dont hug the tree (no huging he called it ) and keep a nice angle to the trunk at all time (dont force the spike into the tree as most the time ur weight should dig the spike into the trunk) oh and sharpe spikes is a must

You may not need to buy the whole thing just the gaff,but only get the short ones,cause thats all youll need.

 

theyre welded ones, so i guess it makes them pretty old?

 

going to look up some prices and see what theyre like possibly

it worked mate i keeped that in my head at all time when i frist started sounds sad but worked( if u hug the tree ur spikes break out and dont hold into the wood) and if u are after new spike Distel climbing Spurs all the way hope u get on ok with that tree mate keep us updated:thumbup1:
