Cheers Steve. I'll speak with my dad in the morning and see if he will need any. What model did they come off? It's started making new noises now. Sounds like there is a piece of metal caught in the engine somewhere, and when I leave it idling it's fine. When I rev it it gets kicked around. Sounds like gravel in a bucket!

That big bit with the teeth missing is called the crown wheel, and it lives in the front differential housing.....it is basically the front differential.....and its scrap. I would hazaerd a gess that they had the locking hubs locked, as they should be, and just went wild in the truck. That sort of damage usually happens at high revs and speed, when the vehicle leaves the ground, and when it hits the groung again that sort of damage occurs. It is often the case that the half shaft snaps, or strips the splines off on a landy, as the diffs are huge, but the comp-safari (off road racing) boys regularly strip out diffs....

this stuff is heavy so if you dont need it no worries as it will be costly to post, but let your dad see the pics and if any of it is of use. It came off an important hilux with a 3 litre engine:001_smile:

Is it the ln167 by any chance yours was? The front diff does look pretty scrapped. As they are used to having a full set of teeth!

Half shafts may be useful in the future. I'm sure some of it may come in handy.
