i get a few big jobs with decent access. did you hear 1 of amblesides lads cut his arm badly with a climbing saw 2 weeks ago? i hate shifting timber from backyards.

 

Yes i heard that, is there any in fo on how it happened, how he is etc?

apparently he was only a couple of foot off the ground doing a hand held cut. his saw caught his waterproof jacket and dragged his arm towards the saw. if all goes well he should be back at work in 3 months. if its bad he will only have feeling in 2 fingers. its the second accident like this they have had in recent years. i dont know the lad apparently he is a subbie. i got told this by a local consultant who used to climb for ambleside.

luke steer. i was climbing on a job that he had done a report for. its the first time ive met him. seems like a nice bloke.

Yes he is top at his job and really knows his stuff, esp on ancient trees etc, also very good on bs5837..

 

didnt know he used to climb for ambleside though.

yeah, not sure if he just subbed for them though. bruce hatton had also written a report on the tree apparently.
