That would be very interesting to find out. It would have been something important and glomorous, of course :001_tongue:

What is the thing in the 7th pic?

My wife (who rather likes horses- we only have about 20 here at the mo- at times there have been nigh on 60 (she has just informed me:sneaky2:)) wondered why a bunch of hairy arsed tree butchers would like pics of a horse lol!

Lovely pics, and nice to see something different too.

Have you shown her the 'woodland flowers' thread- she might be even more surprised you lot like flower pictures!

Reckon it's a bull rush that's kinda given up.....? Am I close?

Yes lol, not many have lasted this long from last summer, hence the 'given up' look! Mind you I sometimes look like that too so shouldn't comment! :blushing:

Your a very lucky lass, nice post.

Bet that little pond has some great inverts in it.

Thanks :001_smile: Yes it's full of life, they all are. One of the very small ones is stuffed full of newts too, hundreds of them.

Er, 99.9% of people will call that bulrush but it is infact reedmace (typha), not bulrush :001_tt2: its an invasive wetland plant, but will only tollerate shallow water so generally only invades the margins.

Bulrush - Typha latifolia - Natural England not sure why NE are starting to refer to it as bulrush either, as thats very bad practise
