Freeing up seized brake calipers?

Been using copper grease on landy calipers for years with no probs.

It depends entirely on the vehicle and this is so because of design of the caliper/slider arrangement and the materials used to make the parts etc...Not rocket science but simply that mostly the sliders are fit with boots of some description. The wrong grease will destroy these "gaiters" and they are worse than useless going soft, holding moisture, bagging around and retaining large quantities of s**t, none of which helps the smooth working life of a slider.....

Some may think this a bit pedantic but we use a range of grease for different applications. Often you will find lithium/soap based greases recommended for this application.

This why a service kit is worth hunting down. Replace the gaiter, refresh the grease. Job done.

Same reason the withdrawal of these items from retail stinks though eh?!

haha it may not be the same for yours as others have said. Nearly everything on a pajero has to be difficult and different, well, the one i've got has, it's a right crock!!

If its a defender calipers remade are £40 ea. put new ones on and forget for another 6 years. Not really worth picking about with all the salt on the roads. I tried cleaning some rare ones up, once you have increased the bore size with emery they tend to jam in the bore.
