You can get some A holes in most jobs, just looking for something to get you with.

Personally i hate mewps, think there worse thing out there, think roped to a tree is safer, that way at least your away from the piece that your cutting. :grinning-smiley-003

Mewps are used by my firm when they are necessary. If the tree is unsafe to climb or if tradition access is inconvenient, or simply not quick enough, then they are a very useful tool. But I'm with you on preferring trad access. Look at pecontools avatar. Health and safety rules aside, it's pretty damm obvious that every climber should have someone capable of getting them down when or if the situation occurs. Saving a climbers life is all that is important. The law should not be our motivation. It should be common sense. I haven't climbed without a climbing groundie for 8 years.
