Make sure you get a good price for it. Since firewood has increased in value millers have had to pay out more for timber. I just sold a load of yew, holly and horse chestnut and was quite suprised what it all went for.

It might be worth you finding out who is the main supplier of wood turning blanks in your area then incontact them. We chuck all the yew branches, knarly unions from things like sycamores, weird burrs, and unusual little bits in a corner of the yard and run it all up before xmas and always get a load of cash for the xmas do and then some to share out.

A few shots of milling yesterday, no idea what I'm going to make out of the timber yet! I have the 3 large 8ft lengths stored at may yard for a rainy day but think they will probably end up on someones log burner!

its a bit boring for me, actually it is very boring for me lol. It takes patience which i dont have for that kind of thing, i will stick to getting things on the deck but its great to see the wood put to good use.
