Thinking of getting about 60 meters of fencing done at the house.

Basic stuff 4" posts with rails and 1.8m vertical slats dressed on one side of the fence only.

Been quoted £55 per linear meter for supplying and labour.

Is this reasonable or is it too dear?

thanks for any comments in advance.

Seems abit steep mate.

We do quite alot of closeboard commercial contracts for building companies and are lucky to get £30 per m. A one off domestic job would cost more but I would get a few alternative quotes first.

Materials would be costing about £12 - £15 per m

I do some of that fencing now and again, it aint the cheapest but it is the best, the price seems about right for a domestic job, concrete, screws or nails it all adds up.

Thats a bit on the high side, then again, whats the digging like - if its through an old garage base and along an old wall footing then its pretty cheap!

Just had a look at the Pict's John has posted and very similar but I want small space in between boards. There is an old post and wire fence but I would remove that my self. the digging wouldn't be the easyest as it is a strip of ground next to rough tarred area. Also forgot to mention there is double gate go to be included.
