The pocket handkerchief tree, and a darn fine one it was too:001_cool:

 

I'm imagining you are on about this one at the side of Kenwood House ?

This is the one Casper got the seeds from he's growing.

 

Couple of autumns ago I came across a carpet of these over the entire root area.

 

Didn't know what they were at the time & forgot about them tbh.

 

You posting that Davidia flower shot reminded me of them.

 

Spoke to Andy & he informs me they are Stropharia aurantiaca - the Redlead Roundhead.
