I wouldn't throw it with the crab still on, easier to get stuck IMO.

If I'm understanding you correctly, orientate the crab on the hitchclimber so you have the crab constantly at the top, Then when you need to unclip, leave the crab on the HC and just throw the rope.

Hope that made sense!!!

(In other words, The exact opposite of this picture!!! :blushing:haha!!)

Yep that’s what I do at the moment,

Just sometimes forget to twist the krabs round before going up

No biggy:001_huh:

The main thing I was interested in, is the Rapide and if it was worth the purchase, (got one coming in the post now) but anyhow thanx for pic. Looks like the sentinel doesn’t hold the line as tidy as a o but I might it a try anyway,

Is that Marlow hitch cord your using for a main line,:thumbup1: and don’t you have trouble with interfering fishermans? (how dodgy does that sound):001_tongue:

As for getting Karbs stuck, nearly broke my collar bone once from yanking on a fatboy to hard (sounds even dodgier) :blushing:haha!!!

Its Ocean Polyester for the hitch cord. Main line Edelrid something or other!! haha!!

The Fishermans isn't a problem, I know that its recomended that you don't use one with the Hitch climber, but it's me that's using it,so as long as I check it, and don't expect anyone else to, its not a problem IMO.

Works well for me!!

hey mb,

just a note to say ive just re done my system and changed ropes from poison ivy to the tm tachyon and have also gone for stiched eye op8mm, when i first got it i was a bit dissapointed by the op and didnt like it but after 2 weks solid climbing on it it is now the best ive ever had it so when you get it give it some time because its not a winner for me at the start but once its bedded in its really nice.

sorry for diverting the thread, i just think this is a point worth noting for the op.

cheers
