Just back from North West Ireland and was walking around an amazing privately owned garden - actually probably one of the most amazing gardens I've ever walked around! (open to the public). Amongst the mature trees there are a few that need a bit of help - its about 2m dia 597655fdac7a8_Chestnutview.jpg.6c037284306fbcf728bc75cf5b097a08.jpg

what a tree!

I think they're in the process of forming concrete pads on the ground to support props below this branch. The garden, amongst numerous other features - has an amazing mature tree collection - well worth a visit if anyones ever in Donegal - Oakfield Park

must have driven past that place loads of times when heading camping along the coast! will have to stop next time and go for a dander, cheers for posting Gareth

Well worth a visit - open now through to end of August. It's owned by a guy called Gerry Robinson of TV fame "Gerry saves the NHS" and other trouble shooter programs. Everyone thinks he's English but I gather he's from Donegal originally and this is his main residence.
