2. Spotted this on a mature Beech, about 10 meters up near a main union. Maybe Phellinus tuberculosus.

5. Ganoderma adspersum on old Beech Stump

 

6. Ganoderma applanatum on Beech with cracking to the trunk.

 

7. Not fungi related but came across this failed Willow Hazard beam.

that just reinforces my views on the Ident of brackets from a visual perspective, looks dark and very uniform in its ring aditions, would have sworn that was igniarius!

It looks like it's fruiting out of a branch socket? It might be a 'benign' saprobe, fruiting on some dysfunctional wood?
