1.Enteridium Lycoperdon on Birch id from my new Keizer book :001_smile:

 

2. Spotted this on a mature Beech, about 10 meters up near a main union. Maybe Phellinus tuberculosus. :hmmmm:

1 Digital crop

2 Full Zoom

3 Arrow pointing to where cushion shaped bracket is located

4 Trunk

 

3. Kretzschmaria deusta on Beech buttresses, Not the same tree as the above pics.

 

4. Where’s the cellulose gone.

 

5. Ganoderma adspersum on old Beech Stump

 

6. Ganoderma applanatum on Beech with cracking to the trunk.

 

7. Not fungi related but came across this failed Willow Hazard beam.

Whats the Keizer book?, haven't heard of that one!

 

The Complete Encyclopedia of Mushrooms by Gerrit J. Keizer, i only got it today but seems very good.

as for the high up forming thing, very interesting!

 

No, very hard upper crust and brown spores.

 

interested to find out what it is, the beech hosts Meripilus too.

that just reinforces my views on the Ident of brackets from a visual perspective, looks dark and very uniform in its ring aditions, would have sworn that was igniarius!

 

great shots, and do keep us posted on that oddaties development!:thumbup:
