sycamore is an ACER! lol

 

the service tree and birch i have no personal experience of ustulina, even in areas of high dominace by ustulina, so pretty confidant they are fairly resiliant.

whats the options then? dont plant at all?:001_rolleyes:

when these tree were planted for an avenue it would of been for a horse in cart Tony i reckon, the area is needing gutted out tbh, straggly sycamores and big badly topped trees, hardly any light gets through so to replant with out addressing the whole area would be pointless i reckon, but now the ball is rolling i think i can get the place tidied up and looking better for the future

im not saying it wouldnt happen, just that it would be a waste of money to plant acers, beeches or limes as these are considerably more prone than other species.

 

let me put it another way, just from an obseravtional point of view in all these trees, avoid planting diffuse porous trees in the pressence of ustulina.
