Tech cert with Treelife

Have been thinking about doing the tech cert with Treelife, in need of some advise. How intensive is the course? i currently work full-time as a climber and was wondering if this is something i could manage to do as well as work (assuming my boss gives me the day release) or whether i would need more time for study?

 

Any advise would be great!

Im doing and so is my friend who is in the same position, where are you thinking of doing it to? I would go for it, the only way you'll really know. I would imagine a lot of after work studying though so depends how much you want it its never going to be a walk in the the park

Syston is where i'd go to do it, it's the nearest, about ten minutes drive for me. I don't mind putting in the effort, it will be more than worth it in the long run. I work for the local authority, by most standards my working day is not as tiring as others, so i should be able to manage doing both.

I did i on a twice a month going to Ely. Worked full time as a climber too, although i'd say goodbye to your whole of sunday as you need to set aside a day to get your research done. I did take a week off proir to the exams to study and well it must of helped as i passed. Pre managment day is a must too, bit pricey but atleast you get to mess up and not fail.

im doing it at the moment as is a is one of the other lads.

 

doing mine online at myerscough.bloody hard work keeping up with the studying etc as ive not done anything academic like this for a decade.

 

finding the time is the hardest thing esp. with two young children.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to ask about the on-line course with Myerscough actually, but from what i've read from previous threads some people have not been entirely happy with the service they recieved. Since Treelife offer the course very nearby to me, i guess it makes sense to apply there, besides, i've heard very good things about Treelife.

did it last year at syston once a fortnight, however westonbirt runs weekly i think, and the surroundings mean that you get to try a more practical side to bs5837, it certainly seemed that the lads that did westonbirt had a better concept of certain things, and the cost is the same regardless of where you do it, but more importantly you double your time with the teaching staff,

 

good course though, ill be honest and say that i didnt give it my all and averaged about 5 hours a week study time, still passed but to get best value out of it you just have to make time, and running business two kids blah blah motivation was lacking,

 

however passed the lot first time and feel more focused on things,
