Spot on Lee, up until a few months ago carlton all belt drive, however now the new 8124 HYDRA is as the name suggests carlton's first hyd cutter system and at 170hp I can't wait to get mine!!!!! With respect to Steve and his machine at 50hp no turbo and the power loss through the hyd he must have had very serious problems with his carlton to rate the predator as a better machine ?

So what exactly was '****' about the carlton Oliver?

I reckon I could find far more happy Carlton customers than Predator customers....

Edwin. I'm only relaying what a disgruntled ex carlton owner tells me. I have a Rayco so I'm independent in my views.

My question was genuine. In my experience, Carltons usually have a hewn from granite type of build quality, whereas the predators seemed to be built out of chocolate. The carlton you speak of must have been particularly bad to be betterd by a predator.
