Quecus alnifolia is the Golden Oak of Cypress.

Quercus robur 'Concordia' is the Golden Oak.

I'm sure I can remember a decent sized one at Kew and it might be worth investigating what Syon Park has, if you are ever in the area.

OK, so they may not even be considered big-ish (the larger tree is only c. 6m x 8m), but they are definately "Aurea"; there's no mistaking that awful chlorotic colouring!

 

They're in Hanger Hill Park W5, if you are ever stuck on the A406 North Circular you'll be able to see them

There are a couple of good golden Catalpas in Swindon. One is at the top of Princes Street near the Wyvern Theatre; the other is in The Parade. Both in urban settings, though. An internet search has turned up one in Cambridge University Botanic Garden, which is closer to you anyway.
