small chipper (entec) battery

I need a battery for my small entec chippit chipper, that i am rebuilding,

the only one i can find online the right size to fit in the battery compartment is £80 as its a sealed battery designed for a mazda, i have used several online battery searches and they all come back with this battery

the dimensions required are maximum 200mmx150mmx190mm so the only battery within that size with the correct terminal layout is a 12v31m Westco battery, just wondered if anyone else had any ideas or thoughts, or knew what battery they had on their smaller older entecs, as 80notes for a small battery seems a bit steep , my defender ones are cheaper than that

Cheers

or should i just stop being a tightwad :blushing:

When i needed a battery for a little Bearcat chipper I took the battery out of my bike cos it was almost exactly the right size. Not sure about prices but might be worth popping to local bike dealer and see what they have got, or do a search for bike batteries on internet i suppose. Hope this helps.

Not sure if yours is the same as mine, but I'm sure it's running an 036 or 038 battery from any car spares shop. I went into halfords with the old one and just matched one off the shelf, it worked out under £30 quid but i've got a discount card which helps considerably in there. It's the same battery that is supposed to fit my rascal truck if that helps?

Is 200mm the max dimension, i think my space was slightly over that 220mm? Any pics of what you've got? Still haven't got round to doing mine properly it's been 2 busy working............

i could just get 220 in but the other measurements are exact as the foam padding takes up the remainder of the space, on the online battery measurements they have 20mm lea way on them anyway when they search, just trying to find the spec on a 036/038 battery
