Guys I'm looking for some help here,

Först TR6d 2020 1500hrs.

A couple of weeks ago I changed the bronze bearing assembly of the bottom feed roller as prescriped by Först to be carried out every 250hrs, i'm just mentioning this as I don't know if it's relevant to this problem or not.

Today I found out that the bottom feed roller is grinding into the feed housing on the non drive end.

I looked at the bearing outside of the non drive end and it's in good shape, greased and locking ring solid on the shaft.

Would it be possible that the feed roller itself has slid over the shaft onto the side of the feed housing ?

Is there any way to fix this ?

thanks in advance !

Ralph.

Apologies for the delay.

So the pictures from the feedrollers are taken from inside the feed hopper, as you can see the bottom feed roller is grinding on the left side while having a 5mil gap on the right side 🤷🤷

any help is much appreciated.

cheers ,

Ralf.

Personally I'd take off the blue bearing and see if there's a mullered spacer between the bearing and the roller.

It looks like it should force everything to the right when assembled, could be something as simple as a collapsed bearing as that locking thing should be sat tight against the bearing.

I'd have to see what diagrams are online, but I'm hoping you understand my explanation?.

Looks to me that the blue bearing secures to the shaft by a grub screw on the collar. I would loosen the grub screw and twat the shaft with a drift and club hammer gain equal clearance on each side.

It looks like there is nothing else to set the axial positioning but as theres no axial loading it shouldnt be nessasary to have any thrust bearing.

Thank you all for your input, I know where to look now.

I have joined the facebook group, I didn't know there were so many issues with the Först chippers.

Lately this TR6 is doing my head in tbh.
