First thinning

So start a bit of woodland thinning on a 5 year plan. Plan is to stack wood to be sold as cord wood and removed in the summer across neighbouring field.

But would it be more profitable to just fell and drag out whole and stack and Bio mass the lot.

So many variables, species?, Top height?, average dbh?.

Stacking whole trees to chip for biomass ,on site, in future can be fraught with difficulties as well as roadside space. It also needs a decent volume to justify the machinery. Firewood works in lots as low as 20m3 if an 8wheeler and crane collects.
