Who is responsible for informing owner about application to fell their trees?

Question

If an application is submitted to council by a neighbour to fell trees in another garden, who is responsible for telling the tree owner? Is there a council responsibility to advise owner at same time as replying to applicant?

I do think all of this is purely academic, as there is a healthy chance that Dorset321 is one of those who post a single question, then merge back into the ether.

Noticed this a few times, is there a way to turn it off and just show me all posts in date order?

@daltontrees Jules can you advise?

As a contractor I wouldn’t go near the trees without the owners permission.

Yes I can but I'm not going to unless OP answers Gordon S's questions.
