Yup, if its an old saw the carb could probably do with a good clean out with carb spray and new diaphragms.  There are plenty of youtube videos about this. Clean the screen, jets and check the metering arm height.

Thanks. Done quite a few carb rebuilds, but was hoping to save a job. Will add to the list. 😊

What does that mean?

I bet it means choke for a dozen pulls, frustration, then trying every other control switch option….🙂🙂🙂

Or am I wrong and it means no choke from first pull?

 

Have you tried 3 pulls on full choke then switching to ‘half choke’ irrespective of it popping on full choke?

You can flood them if you're being a bit over jealous on the choke and pulling the cord.

 

As per bmp, half choke after 1-2 pulls or even off and a few pulls to thin out the mixture as you'll probably find the plug sopping wet.
