Firewood processor recommendations

Tom you don’t get this Arbtalk thing.

You’re meant to ask a question, get annoyed with the suggestions and answers given because you don’t like them, then disappear forever.

To stick around making sensible comments and listening to good advice is considered very bad form.

What about a Piko machine which are made in Finland (made, not just assembled).  Around your budget too.

We've got one in Hereford which isn't a million miles away which you could look at before you buy.  Or could hire you a machine for a day or two (or longer).  You could then make a decision if you want to buy or not.  If not you've got your wood processed so not lost anything.

It's a road tow machine with its own engine.

Up to 300mm so its probably not the biggest one out there but they're well built and would comfortably do the kinda volumes you've got.

Have a look on the link below and send me a DM if you're interested.

Hi there, this sounds like it could be a good day out! Thank you for the offer I may have to take you up on this. It would be great to get a first hand look at something.

I hadn't seen these before. I did go out and check our remaining timber cords, and the average sizes seem to be about 350mm (some much bigger though and some around the 250mm mark), but they are also not arrow straight which i know can be an issue. So going for something that has a larger throat seems to be the way to go. I tried to see if Piko do something larger than a 300 but unfortunately they don't (or at least not that i can see on their website).

I do like the thought of a road towable processor, just in case i want to rent it out and don't want to drive the tractor for an hour!
