I've a couple questions to ask if thats ok

Have a ported 281/288 on a 8pin rim

I have numerous 3003 stihl bars that I want to use and no husky d009 mounts, other than a adapter

1 Do I need to drill the bars to suit the husky style tensioner

2 for instance how many drive links extra would I need for the 8 pin rim  sprocket on a 28" bar

I've tried this with 0.404 Stil bar on my Husky 2100;while matching the tensioner was easy as was an adapter plate the oil holes was the big problem.

not yet, I need to dremel out a slot in the bar. I wore out the solid nose bar on the 2100 years ago so just wanted to fit a stihl bar from my 084 to give it some use.

I have always found that going from 7 pin to 8 pin a standard chain loop will still fit albeit the adjustment is pretty much all the way in until the chain stretches a little .

I thought that aswell, it fits on a 462 8 pin,  just a bit awkward  definitely won't fit on the 288

Oh ok .  Never owned a 288 . The oldest big Huskys I had were 394XP . had two of those . With long bars I found the standard 7 pin worked best .
